૧. આફત સામેની પૂર્વતૈયારી એ જ ઉપાય.       ૨. અગમચેતી એ આફતથી બચાવની ચાવી છે.       3. પાણી પહેલા પાળ બંધાય, આફત સામે પૂર્વતૈયારી કરાય.       ૪. ભૂકંપ, દુષ્કાળ, વાવાઝોડું કે પુર પૂર્વતૈયારી થી થાય બધા જ દુ;ખો દુર       ૫. સ્વયં જાગો, સબકો જગાઓ, ભૂકંપ સામે સુરક્ષિત મકાન બનાઓ       ૬. આવે પુર લઇ જાય દુર, પણ પૂર્વતૈયારી મદદ કરે ભરપુર       ૭. લડીશું સૌ સાથે મળીને, ભૂકંપ,વાવાઝોડું હોય કે પુર       ૮. વધુ વૃક્ષો વાવો, વરસાદ લાવો, જમીનનું ધોવાણ અટકાવો       ૯. માત્ર મોટા શહેરો જ નહીં પણ નગરપાલીકાઓ અને ગામડાંઓનો પણ રાખ્યો ખ્યાલ – આપત્તિના પ્રતિભાવ માટે ક્ષમતા વર્ધનથી થઈ ગયા છેવાડાના માનવીઓ પણ ન્યાલ       ૧૦. શાળા સલામતી કાર્યક્રમના માધ્યમથી પાર પાડ્યો આપત્તિ વ્યવસ્થાપનનો નિર્ધાર, સલામત શાળા, સલામત ભવિષ્ય બન્યો વિદ્યાર્થીઓનો નવો આધાર       ૧૧. આપત્તિ સમયે ત્વરિત પ્રતિભાવ માટે સાધનો અને તાલીમબધ્ધ કર્મચારીયો પુરા પાડ્યા – ગામડાંઓ, નગરપાલિકાઓ અને મહાનગરપાલિકાઓને આપત્તિઓનો સામનો કરવા સક્ષમ બનાવ્યા

Immediately after the 26th January 2001 earthquake, Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority (GSDMA) was established and registered as a ‘Society’ under the provisions of the Societies Registration Act and the Bombay Public Trust Act on 8 February 2001.
